Ham and Tomato Cheesy Omelette

1/2 onion (diced)

1 red chili

1 small pepper (diced)

2 eggs (beaten)

2 tomatoes (sliced)

3 slices ham

Mature cheddar (grated)

1 frying pan

Olive oil

____________________

Heat the pan to a medium/high heat and add a bit of olive oil. Beat the eggs and add the onion, chili and peppers to the egg mix. Stir together and add this to the hot frying pan, turn down to a medium heat. After about 2 minutes and when the underside is almost cooked and the top has started to cook, turn down the heat and add some tomatoes to the top of the omelette, then the ham and then the grated cheese and I added some more tomatoes on top. Cover the frying pan with a lid for 2 minutes while the rest of the egg cooks and the cheese melts and then flip over to make sure everything stays together and is cooked through. This only needs about 30 seconds on the cheesy side then flip onto a plate and serve with your favourite sauces, or with some greens on the side.

Simple but delicious πŸ˜‹

Much love and light to you πŸ’œ

Heart Chakra Balancing and Healing

The Heart or Fourth Chakra, otherwise known as Anahata in sanskrit. The Heart Chakra is located in the middle of the chest area, it is green in colour (although can be seen as pink at higher frequencies) and is usually depicted as a twelve petaled lotus, surrounding a six pointed star within a circle. It’s element is air.

This is the chakra of Unconditional love; for yourself and others, Compassion and Joy, of Truths; known and unknown. It is the fourth chakra and is known as the bridge between the upper and lower chakras, between our physical and spiritual existence. It is associated with balance, calm and serenity. It is our centre of awareness and where we learn discernment through compassion, integration of insights and forgiveness and acceptance. It is also where we connect with our source of empathy.

An imbalanced or blocked heart chakra can lead to problems with the circulatory system and the heart, along with respiratory ailments, and also emotional imbalances which can lead to jealousy and co-dependency, feeling overly defensive and constantly getting into unhealthy relationships. The heart chakra balances the thymus gland which keeps our immune system in balance, when unbalanced it can trigger auto immune diseases and deficiency within the immune system.

_______________________

This is my experience with balancing and healing my heart chakra. Previous disclaimer applies. I knew I had already done a lot of work in this area and opened myself up to explore love for myself but it definitely could use some extra work, so I went in with clear intention of what I wanted, which was to open up fully to love.

I decided on Green Aventurine to work on my heart chakra. Same as with the other chakras, I read up all I could about it, what it does and how it affects me. I chose to colour charge my crystal before meditating. I used the same guided meditation as with previous chakras (7 Chakras Meditation), and I again placed my chakra crystal under my pillow that night to bring through any dreams or insights that could help me discover what needed addressing and healing. I wore clothes which had green in them and I ate foods which were recommended to promote a healthy heart chakra: such as kale, broccoli, spinach, celery, cucumber, matcha, green tea, avocado, lime, mint, peas, kiwi, green apples and peppers. Some other foods which you can eat (but I didn’t) are zuchinni, chard, dandelion greens, parsley and spirulina.

Again came the dreams along with some insights about my balancing of my masculine and feminine which had already started to take place when I made the conscious decision to love myself and everything I was learning about myself. I realised I could open myself up further to that love to embrace the love of others along with a love for myself. To do this without losing myself in any relationship and without losing my self worth. A lot of forgiveness for my past actions was required for me to fully heal this area. Decisions I had made which totally contradicted a love for self. I have made so many discoveries and changes in this area and I will continue to open myself up and be vulnerable in love, to give and receive love in all areas of my life and to find that inner peace within myself instead of looking for it outside of myself. I also realised that the heart wants what it wants regardless of what the mind tries to tell it. Yoga is something that has definitely helped me to open up further to myself and what I want. I trust my heart completely and I will work towards those things I want to experience, however hard it may seem, because to not do this would be giving myself less than I deserve and I can no longer settle for less. Next up Throat Chakra…

30 days of Yoga update…half way there

Phew! Half way there. Only another 15 days to go. Actually I am surprised that I am feeling a lot more toned and flexible than I thought I would from just doing Yoga. However, because I am used to more movement and I usually alternate between weights and hiit (and I have had a few cheeky takeaways recently), I have put on a few pounds, which is why I decided to work the JK workout routine alongside the Yoga. I need to break a sweat to burn some of those extra calories πŸ˜‚

I will definitely keep Yoga as part of my exercise regime. I prefer to do it first thing in the morning and then do stretches before I go to bed. It not only gives the benefit of making my body more flexible and balanced, it also balances my mind and allows me to focus on the moment. Something I can sometimes struggle with when I’m in an ‘all go’ mindset. Simply put, it slows me down and brings me back to me.

One thing I have realised is that nutrition plays a key role in staying fit and healthy and in helping to not pile on the pounds, so I will be taking a closer look at my nutrition as it has not been the best lately.

I know the difference of how my body feels when I am looking after it, to how it feels when I don’t pay attention to what I put in. I have been feeling particularly bloated and heavy lately which is why I knew I’d put on the pounds before I even stepped on the scales. I’m not a fan of using scales to keep track of my fitness so I very rarely use them except for when I’m about to start a new exercise programme or a new healthy eating plan. Time to listen to my intuition and make some dietary changes to help my body to feel πŸ’― again.

I will link the rest of the Yoga videos in the series I am following below.

JK workout routine

Ok so everyone seems to be trying this out since it got leaked, so I’m gonna jump on that bandwagon. It is the Jungkook workout routine. I am a BTS ARMY btw and JK is one of my favourites, even though I just cannot seem to choose a bias from BTS (BTS are my bias😊). Looking at it, it’s pretty similar to the routine I had been doing up until recently when I decided to start my 30 days of Yoga, so hopefully I should be able to keep up 😬πŸ’ͺ

The routine from the English translation is as follows:

Start with warm up 20 Jumping Jacks

20 squats

20 pushups

20 jump squats

20 pike push ups

20 seconds plank

20 mountain climbers

15 burpees

20 crunches

20 leg raises

20 supermans

Phew!

It doesn’t say whether he does sets but I usually work up to 3 sets of any exercise which has reps. I shall be doing this alongside the second half of my 30 days of Yoga which I am almost half way through so I will stay at one set for now but if I like it and I keep going I will work it up to 3 sets. I do like a challenge and as I have said in a previous post I do like to make sure I get sweaty in a workout. Wish me luck. Fighting!

Friday Night Is Curry Night!

Does anyone else have a specific food night? In our household it is Friday night. Instead of ordering a takeaway like we used to EVERY Friday night like clockwork, it has now become CURRY NIGHT.

Now I have made proper Indian curry from scratch, using all the raw ingredients and pastes and coconut milk, and believe me that is super tasty, but it’s kind of an all day or sometimes overnight thing, so the meat (or veggies) absorb all the flavours, so instead we decided we’d go with an easier option, and one that everyone can still enjoy.

So, in preparation for Friday night, I get in some naan breads (I haven’t learnt to make these yet, but it is something I want to learn), some easy cook rice (I will be switching to brown as too much white rice makes my IBS flare up), crinkle cut chips (which happen to be a favourite in our household), some meat, usually chicken, occasionally some veggies (I do love veggies), and a few different flavours of jar curries (note: they don’t have to be super expensive either, I find the cheap brands do just as good a job). It still takes a good hour and half for prep and cooking, but so worth it. Also saves money, and the waistline when it comes to not eating takeout food.

We will occasionally change it up every so often, to keep things interesting. But I really do enjoy the whole experience of cooking a substantial meal and sitting down to it with a nice glass of prosecco after a full week of work/study/cleaning/gardening or whatever else has happened that week. It just feels like the cherry on top, and no matter if my week has been easy or hard, good or bad, I always look forward to Friday nights, dancing around my kitchen and singing at the top of my lungs “IT’S CURRY NIGHT”🎢🎡 God help what the neighbour’s must think 🀣🀣

Mercury retrograde

Got me like 😭😭😭 Why aren’t you listening? Are you stoopid?

No, I’m just healing some very deep personal wounds and karma, so I am learning to be gentle with myself, but thanks for checking in Mercury!

I know I’m not the only one feeling this intense shift of energy during this retrograde. We are being called to literally clear anything which is no longer serving our highest good. We are being guided in getting out of our own way. Of really delving into those shadows and loving the shit out of ourselves in the process.

It’s a super intense time but it’s not all angst and purging. Its also a time of deep introspection and of applying a level of self care and self love to a degree we may not have taken the time to explore before. It can be super laid back some days if you just let the flow take you.

I’m learning to just sit back and enjoy the ride when I get those days when I want to be super hard on myself. It’s a work in progress but I’ll get there.

Sending love and light to all those going through similar experiences. You got this πŸ’•

Solar Plexus Chakra Balancing and Healing

The Solar Plexus or Third Chakra, otherwise known as Manipura in sanskrit. The Solar Plexus Chakra is located just above the navel, below the ribcage, it is yellow in colour and is usually depicted as a ten petaled yellow lotus, surrounding a downward pointing triangle within a circle. It’s element is fire.

This is the chakra of Personality and Identity, it is the third of our primary energy centers and governs our ego and our perception of who we are. It is where we discover our personal power. It is also where we develop our sense of confidence, strength, self esteem, willpower and self discipline. It allows us to make balanced and healthy choices and move forward to meet challenges in our lives, internally and externally, and allows us to use our personal power in a balanced manner.

An imbalanced or blocked solar plexus chakra can lead to problems with the digestive system, liver, gall bladder, pancreas and adrenal glands, and also emotional imbalances which can either lead to stress, anxiety and emotional outbursts, or allowing life to pass you by without taking action.

_______________________

This is my experience with balancing and healing my solar plexus chakra. Previous disclaimer applies. This is another area I knew was still imbalanced, even though I had made some recent life changes, it was still causing me to constantly judge myself and my decisions and compare myself to others and in doing so holding me back from taking action to change things I wasn’t happy with.

I decided on Citrine to work on my solar plexus chakra. I don’t own any yellow clothing, even though it happens to be my favourite colour, my skin colouring is very fair so it tends to make me look washed out. I instead contented myself with thoughts of yellow. I ate foods which were recommended to promote a healthy solar plexus chakra: such as peppers, bananas, pineapple, yellow curry, corn, hummus and ginger.

Again came the dreams along with some insights about the changes I had already made and lots of signs and synchronicities which let me know I was indeed on the right path and progressing beautifully. There were also a few things which came up for me to acknowledge where I could progress more and allow myself further freedom in discovering me and what I want. All I need to do is trust myself and my intuition enough to take those steps. I’m still in the process of letting things take shape but I now know I have choices, I always did, and I can choose how I want to experience my life. I feel that belly fire rise everytime I am faced with a decision or new challenge and I gratefully accept the gifts the universe is giving to me with each one. Next up Heart Chakra…

Working through fear

Work through your fears. This is a repeated message I keep getting through my tarot readings. Even my kitty Freya, agrees that this is a much needed endeavour. Fear is instilled in us though so many experiences in our lives, from early childhood into adulthood, and it remains a constant travelling companion throughout our lives. It really can hold us back from achieving that freedom and life we want for ourselves, but how can we truly free ourselves from fear. We can’t, not fully anyway, we’re human and we have fears, it’s what keeps us safe so we don’t do anything super stupid, like swan dive over Niagara Falls, because damn that water looks refreshing and inviting.

But we do have to be careful of the illusion of fear, that’s where discernment kicks in. The key, I’m finding, is always assess the situation; Why am I afraid? Do I need to be afraid? What is my fear trying to show me? Once you’ve discerned that the fear you are facing is merely an illusion and not one of those rational facing your own death kind of fears, you can figure out what the fear is trying to show you and where you can find your strength by facing your fear head on and doing that thing that scares you. That is how you work through your fears. At least that’s how I’ve chosen to approach mine. If I’m scared and it’s something I know I want to do, I’m gonna do that thing anyway and let the fear motivate me instead of keeping me frozen like I would have in the past. I’m experiencing all kinds of new and exciting things and I plan to keep doing so for the rest of my life.

30 Days of Yoga…first day feelings

Well it’s finally arrived, the first day of my 30 days of Yoga challenge. I was up at 07:30am, not because I had set an alarm, but because it is the middle of summer and my body has decided that daylight streaming through my window means time to rise and shine. Not that I’m complaining, because usually even with an alarm set, I find it difficult to get out of my comfy bed and into the land of the living.

I got up, got ready with my mat and my Yoga pants and pressed play on my first day. I have to say I have been struggling to get back into exercise for the last few weeks, but this workout was a breath of fresh air. This workout stretched me in places where I was losing flexibility but without being too overwhelming after weeks of little to no exercise. I stretched, I tested my core strength and I sweated (a little). All in all an enjoyable start to my 30 days of yoga.

I am feeling accomplished 😊

Note: I will link the videos I am using below for the first half as I do each day. I had to change the series after day 6 because I couldn’t find the rest of that particular set. I will be doing an update post half way through where I will link the second half of the videos. Disclaimer, they are not my videos but they are easy to follow and the best ones I have found to achieve what I want to by the end of my 30 day challenge.

Much love and light to you πŸ’œ
